Acharya movie tickets: pre-booking status seems average overall

Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Acharya is gearing up for a big theatrical release on April 29th. Advance ticket reservations for star performers Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan have opened in the United States and parts of southern India. In line with the trend of advance ticket bookings, Acharya’s advance sales are just at an average level for now.

Acharya’s early bookings for US premieres hit the $300,000 mark from 210 locations. That’s slightly moderate for a movie featuring two of the Telugu film industry’s biggest superstars – Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan, and more so as Ram Charan had recently scored a box office blockbuster with RRR very recently.

Advance reservations in Bengaluru, which has traditionally been a strong point of the Mega family, are also not at a satisfactory level. But that can change quickly as Chiranjeevi enjoys huge popularity in the region. The pace of bookings could increase significantly over the next two days as the film heads towards release.

The governments of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have authorized cinema ticket price hikes for Acharya and subsequently bookings will open with improved ticket prices at cinema halls in the Telugu twin states. Needless to say, Acharya’s early bookings in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana will be exceptional, thanks to the fact that it marks the meeting of real father-son duo Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan. Expectations are sky high on director Koratala Siva.

As things stand, Acharya’s advance bookings have yet to kick into high gear. It remains to be seen if bookings pick up steam in the coming days as the film heads towards its theatrical debut on April 29.
