Disappointing horror movie unlocks streaming success

High-concept horror is one of the easiest ways to make money in Hollywood, as audiences will never get tired of being scared of their seats, and this becomes especially true when a movie is set. focuses on a premise or concept that he has never seen before.

Everyone knew what to expect from Escape room rely solely on the title, but it was disappointing how the film failed to make the most of its unique selling point. It’s not without merit, however, with director Adam Robitel creating an odd atmosphere and the cast doing a good job with the material, it’s just missing the spark that could lift it to the next level.

It’s not that Sony was complaining after Escape room went on to make $ 155 million at the box office on a budget of $ 9 million, with a Rotten Tomatoes score of 51% and a user rating proving that everyone was in full agreement that they had just witnessed the definition of a medium terror exercise.

A sequel released earlier this summer with very little fanfare, but the opening has bounced back to streaming in a major way. According to FlixPatrol, Escape room has spent the entire week in Netflix’s 20 Most Watched Titles list, with subscribers still keen to indulge in horror, despite the onslaught of party titles overwhelming audience charts.
