Family vacation movie night

Thursday at 6 pm, the Patrick Beaver Memorial Library shows the holiday movie “Elf”. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and be prepared for cold weather. In the event of rain or extreme cold, the film will be moved indoors, limited to 45 people on a first come basis. Registration is not required.

Additional Performance Added to “Bugsy Malone” The Hickory Community Theater has added a matinee performance this Sunday closing weekend for “Bugsy Malone”. It’s the last weekend of performances, with shows from Thursday to Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and the extra morning on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.

Tickets cost $ 16 for adults and $ 10 for youth and students. Tickets are available online at, or by phone at 828-328-2283. The opening hours of the ticket office on weekdays are from noon to 5 p.m., Wednesday to Friday, or 30 minutes before any performance.

Due to the continued rate of COVID-19 cases in Catawba County, and in accordance with the latest CDC guidelines, the Hickory Community Theater strongly recommends that patrons wear a mask or other face covering inside the building.
