Netflix UK produced Dave’s Bank, a biopic about Dave Fishwick, a working-class Burnley man and self-made millionaire who fought to set up a community bank so he could help local businesses. The film is directed by Chris Fogginwhose credits include Dead in heaven, cold feet, friend request pending and more. The screenplay was written by Piers Ashworth (save the cinema, joyful spirit). Director Chris Foggin commented:

Dave’s Bank is produced by Piers Tempest (Military wives, ordinary love, women) by Tempo Productions with Matt Williams (Save the cinema, last train for Christmas) and Karl Hall of Future Artists Entertainment. Piers Tempest added:

Based on the real life experiences of Dave Fishwick, Dave’s Bank tells the story of how a working-class man from Burnley and a self-made millionaire fought to set up a community bank so he could help local Burnley businesses not just survive, but thrive.
In his bid to help his beloved Burnley community, he must take on London’s elite financial institutions and fight to receive the first new banking license issued in over 100 years.

The main actors of Netflix the Dave’s Bank are Rory Kinner, Joel Fry and Phoebe Dynevor. Kinner (No time to die, Penny Dreadful, Black Mirror) will play Dave Fishwick himself. Joel Fry (Game of Thrones, our flag means death) will play the role of young London lawyer Hugh, hired by Dave to defend his case against the British banking system. Dynevor (Bridgerton) will play fiery local doctor Alexandra. Additional cast includes Hugh Bonneville (Notting Hill, Paddington), Paul Kaye (Game of Thrones, after life) and Jo Hartley (after life).
