The premiere date of Unexplored fast approaching, and if Omicron doesn’t make the movie another victim of film delay, we can watch the Tom Holland action-adventure in mid-February. To get fans of the video game franchise a little more excited, Sony has unveiled a new poster that features the full main cast of the upcoming blockbuster, following a duo of treasure hunters who set out to salvage ancient artifacts. losses of up to $5 billion. .
Unlike the previous poster revealed in December, this new one has a lot more color and emphasizes the adventure aspects of the film, with thrill seekers on their way to explore an island, a beautiful sunset at the back and main thrown together on a sky and compass background. Besides Holland, the poster also features Mark Wahlberg as fan favorite Victor “Sully” Sullivan (who still doesn’t have his famous mustache), Antonio Banderas like Moncada, Sophie Ali like Chloe Frazer and Gabrielle Tati like Braddock.
The trailers for Unexplored revealed that Sony and PlayStation Productions spared no expense in making the film the adventure of a lifetime, with death-defying stunts performed by Nathan Drake (Holland) such as jumping from flying planes and expensive sets that include ancient ships, caves and everything you would expect from a treasure hunter adventure. According to New York Times, the film reportedly cost $120 million to make.
Unexplored is led by Ruben Fleischer, who already made a big-budget blockbuster with 2018 Venom. He shot to fame after directing a surprise hit horror comedy zombieland, and the the screenplay for the video game adaptation was directed by Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, who collaborated on the development of the screenplay of other blockbusters such as Iron Man, Transformers: The Last Knight and Men in Black: International.
