The Aggie Fashion Club is teaming up with Allen Theaters for a “Fun” Movie Night, starting at 6 p.m. Thursday, November 17, at Allen Theatres’ Telshor 12, 2811 N. Telshor Blvd.
The film is “The Devil Wears Prada”, the 2006 blockbuster starring Meryl Streep, Ann Hathaway and Stanley Tucci.
Tickets are $15 each.
Funds raised will support the club’s membership in the National Retail Federation (NRF), said Kelley Coffeen, Ph.D., assistant professor of merchandising and fashion design in NMSU’s Department of Family and Consumer Sciences. and co-sponsor of the club.
“The Fashion Merchandising and Design program is so grateful that our students are willing to fundraise to continue our NRF membership,” Coffeen said. “It allows our students to connect with industry professionals in real time during the semester. For example, students participate in recruiting chats, which companies like Amazon, Macy’s, Williams & Sonoma, Dick’s Sporting Goods offer so students can connect with industry recruiters and learn about internships, skills needed, career paths and jobs after graduation.
“NRF has been an amazing resource for us students to connect with the fashion retail industry now and meet recruiters who can help prepare us for jobs after graduation. “said Aggie Fashion Club President Alex Ruvalcaba. “With the money we raise and the generous help of Allen Theaters, it will also support our annual upcycle/recycle sustainable fashion show which takes place every spring.”

The NRF, founded in 1911, is the largest retail trade association in the world. It represents nearly four million retail establishments nationwide and more than 50 million employees.
