After it was announced that the creators of ‘Interstellar’ and ‘Parasite’ were making a K-pop movie in August 2021, we heard nothing more about it. Titled ‘K-pop: Lost in America’, the film turned heads as it was not just a biography or a documentary, but a fun comedy about a K-pop group that gets lost barely 2 days before its debut. With producers having hit rom-coms under their belt like “Sleepless in Seattle,” many hoped their favorite idol actors would be cast. And some fans’ wishes came true as on July 1, it was reported that Astro’s Cha Eunwoo would be one of the leads.

We first learned that Aussie comedian Rebel Wilson and Charles Melton of “Riverdale” fame had joined the cast of “K-POP: Lost in America.” Deadline’s exclusive report also shared that filming will begin in the fall and the film will be released in 2023. While Charles Melton is half-Korean and could play one of the members of the fictional K-pop group, fans had been promised that the K-pop idol actors would also be in the Hollywood film. Well, our prayers have been answered, as one of the greatest idol actors, Eunwoo, has been enlisted.
