LAS VEGAS (FOX5) – If you’re near the Mob Museum overnight Wednesday or Thursday night, keep an eye out for a car chase. An action movie is filming downtown.
Investor funding and a $ 50,000 Kickstarter campaign resulted in the movie “Action! Action!” the green light.
“A group of guys steal a painting of Al Capone from the Mob Museum and they get a car chase and everything breaks out in front of that house and the cops are converging on her and there’s a big shootout,” the director and producer said. Adam Kilbourn.
As part of the film, a domestic explosion was filmed on Monday night near the Strat. Making a feature film in Las Vegas has been a Kilbourn dream for years.
“Vegas is not a big city for movies like other places might be. We’re trying to do more here, ”Kilbourn said.
Expect to see nods to vintage Las Vegas, including an appearance by former mayor Oscar Goodman inside his eponymous restaurant in the Plaza.
“I graduated from UNLV. I’ve been chasing the dream of directing and making movies since I was a kid, ”said Danny Shepherd, action director of“ Action! Action!
The team has been touring the city for almost a month.
“I think when people see the level of passion and enthusiasm… it’s going to be awesome… it’s kind of a dream for all of us,” Shepherd said.
Filming should be done by Christmas. The film’s scheduled release is in May.
