Film Premiere at Lincoln Colleg


For those who have always wanted to go to a movie premiere, an opportunity will present itself in December. Lincoln will host a film premiere featuring Candy Cain’s film “A Holiday Homecoming” scheduled from 7 to 8:30 pm on Saturday, December 11 at the Johnston Center for Performing Arts on the Lincoln College campus.

The Lincoln Art Institute, 112 S. McLean St, will host a pre-party from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and provide a family atmosphere with hot chocolate and cookies. Spend time chatting with two teenage actresses Allison Mullaney who plays Abigail and Catherine Cain who plays Martha before the show starts. The film is a denominational film that tells the story of the people of Hope, New York. After a fire at St. Jerome’s Home for Children, residents come together to help foster children displaced just before Christmas. Many families find that what they thought was a temporary situation is exactly what they needed to have their homes complete.

“A Holiday Homecoming” was released on Pure Flix on November 15, but Gemelli Films will be hosting its Lincoln theatrical premiere in anticipation of the creation of a faith-based Central Illinois Film Hub.

The evening will be filled with photos, meeting some of the cast and crew, walking the red carpet and watching a terrific family movie to put those in attendance in the Christmas mood.

Candy Cain, president and founder of Gemelli Films, Inc. as well as an established writer and director, fell in love with Central Illinois. His film “Baking Up Love” was produced last spring in Morton. Cain is currently working on a new television series, “Wrath and Rituals”, which is being filmed in Lincoln, Morton, Peoria and other parts of Illinois.
