Kangana Ranaut calls Deepika Padukone’s Gehraiyaan a bad movie, says ‘no amount of skin show or pornography can save it’ | Bollywood

Days after attacking a reporter over an issue involving Deepika Padukone, Kangana Ranaut apparently penned a note for the actor’s latest outing, Gehraiyaan. The film is about complex modern relationships and was released Friday on Amazon Prime Video.

On Saturday night, Kangana took to her Instagram Stories to share Manoj Kumar and Mala Sinha’s popular song Chand Si Mehbooba Ho Meri from the 1965 film Himalay Ki God Mein. The song has Manoj Kumar singing on the banks of a river and adjacent areas and Mala dancing in a lehenga. It was sung by legendary singer-songwriter Mukesh. The film revolved around Manoj Kumar’s character, Dr. Sunil, who fell in love with Phoolwa of Mala Sinha in the village despite her engagement to Dr. Neeta of Shashikala.

Kangana Ranaut shared a song and a note on Instagram Stories.

Throwing shade at Gehraiyaan, Kangana wrote, “I’m also a millennial but I identify and understand this kind of romance…in the name of millennial/new age/urban movies please don’t sell trash.. .bad movies are bad movies no amount of skin show or porn can save it…it’s basic fact koi gehraiyaan wali baat nahi hai (there’s no depth to it).

Earlier this month, Kangana launched her new reality show, Lock Upp at an event and interacted with the media afterwards. She lost her temper when a reporter asked her to take on an influencer shaming Deepika for her “hems and necklines” during Gehraiyaan promotions. Kangana declined his question saying, “Listen, I am here to defend those who cannot defend themselves. Good? She can defend herself. She has the privilege, the platform and I can’t promote her movie here. Sit.”

When the reporter denied promoting Gehraiyaan by asking such a question, Kangana added, “Of course you named the movie. You also name a movie that is coming. Obviously, you are planted by the public relations of said film. Arre yaar, hum itne bhi toh naadaan nahi hai na (I’m not that naive). Do it outside, I’ll engage with you for 45 minutes.

Kangana has been criticizing Deepika for a while now. Earlier, she accused her of running a depression ‘business’ with her mental health organization.

Gehraiyaan is directed by Shakun Batra and includes some intimate scenes between Deepika and her co-star Siddhant Chaturvedi.
