There’s a lot of buzz surrounding “The Batman,” and now there’s some unusual marketing around the film, including by Oreo.
Advertising week reports Oreo, owned by Mondeléz, has created a limited-edition cookie with Batman’s silhouette on it. There is even a promotional movie made entirely of the special edition Oreo and features iconic scenes from the franchise like the Bat Signal and the Batmobile.
The campaign focuses on puzzles, the signature weapon of the film’s villain, the Riddler. Fans who solve the puzzles can see inside the Batman universe.
Adweek said the immersive digital experience allows users to virtually enter and explore the Batcave and uncover secrets previously only accessible to Batman and his butler Alfred.
The cookies will be on the shelves in several European markets. However, the digital campaign will also include interactive posts with puzzles on Instagram for everyone to follow.
The Batman was supposed to be released in June 2021 but was delayed due to COVID. It will now be released on March 4.
