Pakistani cinema in danger because of this Hollywood film, The furious makers raise their voices

The Hollywood film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has created a sensational atmosphere since its release. The film is busy doing business at home and abroad. In Pakistan too, Doctor Strange created such a ruckus that his 5 films released on Eid day went bad. Now, the situation is that Doctor Strange is getting more screen time in theaters. Due to which the four movies released on Eid moved to limited screens.

The Royalty of Hollywood Movies in Pakistani Cinema: These 5 films released after the pandemic would be important in boosting Pakistani cinema. Films were also engaged in making decent collections. But Doctor Strange showed such a monopoly on the cinema screen that the country’s local release was given negligible room in theaters. On Eid day, 1 film in Punjabi and 4 in Urdu were released in Pakistan. These films also faced a tough challenge from Hollywood movies. Somewhere more than 50% of the screens were given to Hollywood films and somewhere 100%.

Pakistani filmmakers raised their voices: Pakistani filmmakers have also raised their voices against this. Frustrated by the attitude of the Pakistani ministry, the filmmakers also spoke of the financial damage caused to them. The filmmaking team also called a press conference against the emphasis on foreign release over local production. The filmmakers say we have reservations and we would like to appeal to the government to also find a solution to this, where there has been a loss of our investment. Pakistani audiences are being turned away from their home-made films.
