Although Dead Pool 3 finally has momentum, a top co-star and a new release date, it wasn’t the movie Ryan Reynolds originally had in mind for the third installment. Via The Hollywood Reporter, while promoting his new Apple TV+ film, FieryReynolds revealed to Big Issue that he once co-wrote a dead Pool Christmas movie four years ago. Additionally, its co-writers were Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, the duo behind the original dead Pool and its sequel.

“I would love to see a song and dance number in a dead Pool movie,” Reynolds said. “Four years ago, Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick and I wrote a Christmas movie starring Deadpool. But it got lost in the reshuffle of Disney’s acquisition of Fox and it never got made. -maybe one day we can make this movie. It’s not a musical, but it’s a full dead Pool Christmas movie. So one day.

Technically there was a dead Pool holiday-themed movie. In December 2018, 20th Century Fox released Once upon a time Deadpool. It was a PG-13 family coupe from Deadpool 2. But there were also new scenes in which Deadpool told the story to Fred Savage, in an homage/parody to the classic children’s film, The princess to be married.

If Reynolds really wants to do the dead Pool A Christmas movie, it might find a home on Disney+ if a theatrical release is out of the question. After all, Marvel has already Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special premiere this Friday, November 25. dead Pool special holiday could keep the tradition alive.

Reese and Wernick now co-write Dead Pool 3, which will be directed by Shawn Levy. It will be released in theaters on November 8, 2024.
