Warner Bros.’ flash, starring Ezra Miller and directed by Andy Muschietti, is currently slated for release on June 23, 2023. The film has suffered several delays, as has the rest of the DCEU surrounding it, but it looks like that date will likely stick.
In breaking news, Ezra Miller’s off-screen behavior has put the movie in jeopardy or been scrapped or fans aren’t as receptive to a movie with them in multiple leading roles.
Despite the recent cancellation by Warner Bros. Discovery by Leslie Grace bat girlit seems the flash will continue to move forward, with a budget of $200 million, making it difficult to drop the film entirely. The first solo Flash live-action film is fully in post-production at WBD and DC Films, with less than 10 months until its theatrical debut.
Muschietti recently celebrated its 49th birthday, with the flashThe composer even offered him a fun surprise during post-production.
Listen to the main theme of The Flash (Maybe)
Film producer Barbara Muschietti, brother of The Flash director Andy Muschietti, shared a recent video on Instagram of what may be a tease of the flashthe main theme.
Watch below:
The first eight seconds sound familiar from other superhero scores, suggesting this could be a preview of what will play alongside Muschietti’s film.
Composer Benjamin Wallfisch gave the director this interpretation for his birthday. Barbara Muschietti joked in the caption of the post that she only gave her brother “a dish service:”
“@benjaminwallfisch always gives the best birthday gifts. Happy birthday @andy_muschietti. I got Andy a dinner service.”
A new Flash theme
Ezra Miller’s iteration of Barry Allen has yet to receive a memorable musical score in the DCEU in its three appearances to date. Tom Holkenborg’s Speed Force theme in Zack Synder’s Justice League was the most recent attempt.
Marvel Studios has generally been ahead of DC Films over the past decade, but character themes like Henry Cavill’s Superman and Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman have been the highlights.
If the first eight seconds of this video are really Benjamin Wallfisch’s version of the flash theme, this is great news for fans. It has a similar build to Danny Elfman’s original Spider Man score, increasing in pace and energy.
Speeding up the score as it plays sounds suitable for the living fast man, an official tease could come during the Flash’s first trailer in the coming months.
the flash is set to hit theaters on June 23, 2023.
