The original 1978 Doctor Strange movie is now on Blu-ray


Next month, the latest blockbuster from Marvel Studios, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, arrives in theaters. But it’s not the only one Doctor Odd the film is coming out this year, as it was announced that the 1978 live-action strange doctor the movie is getting a Blu-ray re-release that no one knew it needed.

Stephen Strange’s origin story in this film differs a lot from what we saw in the 2016 film starring Benedict Cumberbatch. Instead of fighting Kaecilius, he is tasked with defeating the evil witch Morgan le Fey (Jessica Walter). Watch the trailer:

And if that wasn’t enough, here’s the synopsis:

A modern hospital may seem a world away from the days of ancient wizards. But for psychiatrist Stephen Strange (Peter Hooten) and his patient Clea Lake (Eddie Benton), this is where these worlds collide…and the nightmare begins! Nothing Stephen Strange learned in medical school could prepare him for an attack by an evil “fourth dimensional” witch, Morgan le Fay (Jessica Walter), a villainess who plans an invasion of evil. unimaginable on Earth. Chosen by an ancient Guardian of the Spirit World to learn the mystical arts in order to defeat Morgan and protect Earth, Stephen Strange must take the place of Earth’s last wizard. Come live a fantastic adventure in the “fourth dimension” with… Dr. Strange!

Along with the high definition restoration of the film, the Blu-ray also comes with an audio commentary by pop culture historian Russell Dyball and “The Panel Jumper” host Cole Hornaday. It also features some great new covers:

Could this remaster be an indication that we’ll see Peter Hooten’s version of Stephen Strange in Multiverse of Madness? Probably not, but it’s a good way to earn some cash while the character is in fashion.
